DO I NEED A BRIDAL TRIAL?

I strongly recommend a trial for all brides.

Even if you already know exactly what you want, a trial allows us to test the makeup, make adjustments and establish your final look before the wedding day. It also means there are no surprises on the morning of your wedding. It also give us a chance to meet and get to know each other!

WHEN SHOULD I HAVE MY BRIDAL TRIAL?

Ideally, your trial should be scheduled 2 - 4  months before your wedding, rather than immediately before the big day. This gives you plenty of time to decide whether you would like any small changes and allows us to finalise your look without pressure. This also allows you time to implement any skincare improvements before the big day.  If your wedding is approaching quickly, don’t panic we’ll simply work with the time available.

WHAT HAPPENS AT MY BRIDAL TRIAL?

We’ll discuss your wedding, dress, styling, flowers, overall aesthetic and the type of makeup you normally feel comfortable wearing. We’ll also look at your inspiration photos and talk through what you like about each look. I’ll then create your makeup based on your features, colouring, skin and eye shape, while taking into consideration how the makeup needs to perform throughout your wedding day and photograph under professional photography. You’ll have the opportunity to give feedback throughout the appointment so we can refine the look together.

CAN I BRING INSPO PICTURES?

Absolutely. Inspiration photos are incredibly helpful, particularly when they show the style, finish or overall feeling you’re drawn to. Keep in mind that makeup can look very different from person to person. Factors such as eye shape, skin texture, colouring, facial structure and even the lighting used in a photograph can change how a particular look appears. I’ll always use your inspiration as a guide.  The goal is to create your best version of the look.

 CAN WE TRY DIFFERENT LOOKS AT MY TRIAL?

Your trial is designed to establish and refine your bridal makeup rather than provide multiple completely different makeup applications. We’ll discuss your preferences beforehand and work towards the look that best suits you. Small adjustments can be made during your appointment, and your feedback is encouraged. My role is also to give you honest professional advice.

If I believe a particular request won’t achieve the result you’re hoping for because of your features, skin or eye shape, I’ll explain why and suggest an alternative that will give you a better result.

WHAT IF IM NOT SURE WHAT MAKEUP I WANT?

 That’s what I'm here for! You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want. Bring along a few images of makeup you like, even if they’re different from one another. We can look at what you are consistently drawn to and work from there. I’ll help translate your ideas into a cohesive bridal look that suits you.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY TRIAL?

Please arrive with a clean face and your usual skincare applied.

Avoid trying new skincare, active treatments or harsh exfoliation immediately before your appointment. 

If possible, bring photographs of your wedding dress, hair inspiration and any other styling details that may help me understand your overall vision.  I will also send you a prep list once you have booked.

 

 WHO SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

Your bridal trial is  ideally a one-on-one appointment. This allows us to concentrate on you and your makeup without distractions or multiple opinions influencing the process. It’s very normal to want reassurance from family or friends, but ultimately your bridal makeup needs to feel right to you. If you would like someone else’s opinion, I recommend showing them photographs of your finished trial afterwards.

WHAT IF I DONT LIKE SOMETHING DURING MY TRIAL?

 Please tell me. Your feedback is an important part of the trial process. I would much rather know during your appointment that you’d prefer something softer, darker, brighter, more defined or more natural. At the same time, professional advice is part of what you’re paying for. I’ll explain what I recommend and why, particularly where a requested change may not produce the result you’re expecting. Sometimes the best solution isn’t to recreate a reference image exactly, but to adapt the elements you love so they work with your individual features.

CAN I HAVE MORE THAN 1 TRIAL?

If you feel you need further refinement after your initial trial, an additional trial can be booked subject to availability. Additional trials are charged at the standard bridal trial rate.

 

DO I HAVE A TRIAL BEFORE BOOKING MY WEDDING DATE?

My trial availability is given first to my booked brides. If you wish to have a trial before booking your date you may see availability online or email me to book.

Your wedding date must be secured separately to your bridal booking. A trial does not automatically reserve your wedding-day booking.
